Este verano ha sido sobre ahorrar dinero. Mi familia y yo hemos estado trabajando mientras nos hemos estado quedando en casa todo el verano. Aunque no es un problema, (con el dinero que ahorramos, compramos un carro nuevo para mi madre) extrañamos unas vacaciones. Por eso, cuando mi padre encontraba un viaje muy barato al Caribe Oeste, nos emocionamos.
El viaje incluye visitas en México, Belice y Honduras que es especialmente interesante a mí porque me encanta el cultura y historia Latinoamérica pero nunca he visitado. También en estos territorios, hay muchos ruinas Mayas. (Tal vez puedo tomar un foto de una pirámide Maya real para este blog en vez del foto de la pirámide en Disney World).
Reservamos las vacaciones en diciembre para la semana después del fin de mi semestre otoño. Sin embargo, aunque es muy barato, todavía es mucho dinero. Por eso, para el resto del año, estamos ahorrando dinero pero pienso que va a vale la pena. Estoy muy emocionada (¡147 días!)
Aparte, hoy es el cumpleaños de mi compañera de cuarto en universidad, Maggie. Ahora, ella está en Guatemala (¡tía con suerte!) con su iglesia y no puedo comunicar con ella pero le deseo un feliz cumpleaños.
Aparte de nuevo, he terminado Les Miserables, (EL LIBRO MÁS LARGO DEL MUNDO) y voy a empezar leer La Vida es Sueño hoy.
Saving Money
This summer has been about saving money. My family and I have been working while we’ve been staying at home all summer. Although it’s not a problem, (with the money we saved we bought a new car for my mom) we long for a vacation. That’s why, when my dad found a trip that was really cheap to the Western Caribbean, we got excited.
The trip includes visits in Mexico, Belize and Honduras which is especially exciting to me because I love the history and culture of Latin America but I have never visited. Also in those territories, there are many Mayan ruins. (Maybe I can take a photo of a real Mayan pyramid for this blog instead of a photo of the pyramid in Disney World).
We reserved the vacation in December for the week after the end of my fall semester. However, although the trip is very cheap, it’s still a lot of money. That’s why, for the rest of the year, we’re saving money, but I think it will be worth it. I’m very excited. 147 days!
On a side note, today is my college roommate, Maggie’s, birthday. Right now she’s in Guatemala (lucky!) with her church and I can’t contact her, but I wish her a happy birthday.
On a side note again, I finished reading Les Miserables, (THE LONGEST BOOK IN THE WORLD) and I will start reading La Vida es Sueño today.
